Chalkfest will feature sidewalk chalk art by more than 40 professionals, amateurs and art enthusiasts from around the world and as far away as Mexico, Ukraine and Colombia. Main Street Arbor Lakes is transformed into a street art gallery open for public viewing and the opportunity to vote for your favorite professional artist to win the People’s Choice Award. Public chalking areas will be provided too, so bring your creativity along!
Free Bach to Rock Grand Opening. 10:00am – 3:00pm. Bach to Rock, Coon Rapids. Bach to Rock, America’s music school for students of all ages, proudly announces it is opening a new school in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. The community is invited to the free grand opening on Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at 13030 Riverdale Drive, NW, Coon Rapids, Minnesota, 55448. Attendees are welcome to tour the school, enjoy a free music lesson, learn about individual lessons and group classes, try out free toddler “Mommy and Me” classes, enter prize drawings and giveaways, check out the recording studio, and enjoy performances by instructors. Sensory Friendly Sunday June 2022. 8:00 – 11:00am. Walker Art Center, Minneapolis. Sensory Friendly Sunday is a monthly event designed for kids, teens, and adults with sensory processing differences, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities.
Family Day: Be Proud of Your Story. 10:30am – 5:00pm. Minneapolis Institute of Art. Be proud of who you are! Celebrate Pride month by learning about visionary and courageous artists from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Take time to appreciate the many kinds of relationships in your life. During Family Day, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can pick up a free Family Day Artist Tote at Mia’s Third Avenue Entrance. Totes are available while supplies last.
