Veterans Day is a day to honor those who have given so much to our country. Veterans Day 2022 is on Friday, November 11th and many retailers and restaurants are offering freebies and discounts to Veterans and their families.
Below is the list of Veterans Day Freebies for 2022. Keep in mind that for most you will need to provide proof of your active military or veteran status to take advantage of these deals. Some deals, under “Freebies & Online Deals” are good for anyone!

Dollar General – 20% off for veterans, Thursday 11/10 through Sunday 11/13. Veterans, Active Duty Military and their families save 20%.
Duluth Trading Company – Duluth Trading Co. offers active-duty service members and veterans a 10% discount in stores nationwide in honor of Veterans Day from November 11 – 14.
Great Clips – On Friday, November 11, 2022, veterans and active service members can go into any U.S. Great Clips salon and get a free haircut or a free haircut card for a future visit.
Kohl’s – Veterans, active and former military personnel, and their families get 30% off in-store purchases from Friday, November 11 through Sunday, November 13. Valid military ID is required.
Office Depot & Office Max – From Friday, November 11 through Sunday, November 13, veterans, active duty and retired military personnel, Reservists, and their dependents, can enjoy 25% off qualifying regular and sale-priced purchases in Office Depot and OfficeMax stores nationwide in honor of Veterans Day. To take advantage of this special discount, shoppers must present this coupon and a valid military ID, military dependent ID or form of veteran ID at the time of purchase.
Sport Clips – Many Sport Clips locations will offer free haircuts to active duty U.S. service members and veterans on Veterans Day, November 11, 2022, with valid proof of service.
Staples – Staples will offer 25% off all in-store purchases to active-duty personnel, reservists, retired or disabled veterans, and their immediate families at all U.S. locations from November 6 through 12 with a valid military ID.
Target – Veterans can save 10% at Target from October 30 – November 12 by signing up online for this single-use coupon.
Walgreens – On November 11th through 14th, veterans, military and their families will receive 20% off eligible regular price items in Walgreens stores. This offer is valid in store only.
Attractions and Events (National)
Free Admission to National Parks – Every year on November 11th EVERYONE can get free admission into any National Park nationwide.
Attractions and Events where Veterans get in FREE or discounted (Minnesota)
Minnesota Zoo – Starting November 11 and going until December 11, military personnel and their immediate families will receive 50% off admission.
Twin City Model Railroad Museum (St. Paul) – Veterans get in FREE! On Veterans Day (Friday, November 11th) all active and retired Service Members get in FREE! (Volunteers will ask for proof of service). Museum hours 10-3, children 4 and under are free every day!
SEA LIFE Aquarium (Mall of America, Bloomington) – For the month of November, SEA LIFE is offering FREE general admission to veterans and active-duty military every day! Friends and family visit with you can also receive discounted general admission. This offer is available onsite only, so be sure to check our hours before your visit AND bring your military or veteran ID.
Restaurants:
Many places offers Active Duty Service Members, Guard Members and Veterans a FREE Meal on Veterans Day. Make sure you pass on this information to anyone you know who is a Veteran or Active Duty so they can snag a free meal too! All places require proof of military service, proof of service includes Military ID, Discharge Papers, DD214 and being in uniform. What proof of service required depends on the restaurant.
Applebee’s: Each year, veterans are invited to pick from one of 7 free meals as a Thank you to service members. Check with your local Applebee’s this year as different local mandates and guidelines vary.
Chili’s: Is offering all military veterans past and present their choice of one of 4 meal options. Offer only available at participating Chili’s in the U.S. only. Dine-in from limited menu only.
Country Kitchen – Free Country Scramble breakfast for active and retired military on November 11th.
Denny’s: Get a free Build Your Own Grand Slam breakfast on Nov. 11 from 5 a.m.- noon. (Not Verified as of this posting)
Golden Corral – Veterans get a free “thank you” meal during military appreciation night, which this year is on Monday, November 14th, 2022 from 5:00pm – close.
Green Mill – Green Mill honors our military on Veterans Day with a free menu item. (Also save 10% every day.) (See details on their website.)
IHOP – Free red, white and blue pancakes on November 11th until 7pm. ID required.
Little Caesars® Pizza: Veterans and active duty service members receive a free Lunch Combo, which features four slices of Little Caesars popular Detroit-style DEEP!DEEP!™ Dish pizza, paired with a 20-ounce Pepsi product between 11:00am – 2:00pm.
Red Lobster – Free Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, Fries, and Coleslaw for Veterans Day, November 11. Guests only need to show a valid military ID or proof of service to redeem this offer. Dine-in only.
Red Robin: Free Red’s Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries on November 11.
