Most events are FREE. I noted those I know are not free, but be sure to check in advance. However, there are so many events, and many may change, so what is listed here may not be accurate when you go.

Severs Fall Festival. Shakopee. Open weekends September 17 – October 30, plus MEA October 20 – 21. Tickets are $19 online, or $23 at the door. Children 3 and under are free.
Twin Cities Harvest Festival & Corn Maze opens! Open weekends September 17 – October 30, plus MEA October 20 – 21. Brooklyn Park. Admission is free but the activity area is $12 per person.
Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. October 1 – November 5. Minnesota Zoo, Apple Valley. Tickets range from $18-24 and Members receive $2-off General Admission.
Pirate Treasure Hunt at SEA LIFE. October 1 – 31. Sea Life, Mall of America, Bloomington. Tickets start at $23.99.

Schultz Family Lights – 1526 York Ave, St Paul. They are known for their holiday lights, and lighting up the whole block, but their Halloween lights are awesome too!
Johnson Holiday Lights – 2065 California Ave E, St. Paul. Note: It’s free to enjoy but they are collecting donations for JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.

Free Lil’ Explorers Thursdays. 10:15am. Como Zoo, St. Paul. Lil’ Explorers is a FREE program from 10:00AM-noon on Thursdays in the Visitor Center in the Winter and on the zoo grounds in the Summer. Perfect for the 1-3 year old (but every age is welcome) to meet animal and plant visitors, see story time, play games and many other fun activities. Different theme each week!

Halloween at the Lake. 5:00 – 8:00pm. Parkers Lake Playfield, 15500 County Road 6, Plymouth. A free event that brings together the best of Plymouth’s Parks and Recreation, Police, and Fire departments, Halloween at the Lake features attractions such as inflatables, food trucks, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin golf, bingo, an apple launcher and treat stations, while supplies last. The event will also include public safety vehicles for children to view, as well as a sensory station for hands-on fun.

St. Cloud Kids and Parents Expo. 9:30am – 2:00pm. St. Cloud River’s Edge Convention Center, St. Cloud. 2022 will be the 18th Kids & Parent’s Expo and will showcase a “Spooky Theme” with Halloween right around the corner. Dress the kiddos up in their favorite Halloween costumes & get them ready for a day of fun! Filled with exhibitor trick-or-treating, bounce houses, laser tag, Halloween art and more spooky surprises! Kids 12 and under are Free. Adults are $10. Tickets are only sold at the door the day of the event.

Halloween Hop. 10:00am – 1:00pm. New Ulm (about 1-1/2 hours southwest of the Twin Cities). Trick-or-Treat! Grab your costumes and your candy buckets! Visit participating businesses and receive candy/treats. No purchase necessary.

Discovery Days: Science in the Shadows. 10:00am – 4:00pm. Bakken Museum, Minneapolis. Discovery Days at The Bakken Museum feature hands-on activity stations that are included in the price of admission. Purchase tickets online in advance or drop in for the fun. This event is ideal for children ages 5 to 14 plus their friends and families. General admission is $7 – 13.

Halloween Trail Walk. 11:00am. Viking Lakes, Eagan. Dress in your Halloween best and explore “Legends Crossings” at Viking Lakes. Attendees will visit trick-or-treat stations, enjoy music, and play Halloween-themed games throughout the plaza. Must purchase tickets in advance.
Trunk or Treat. 11:00am – 1:00pm. Apple Valley Family Aquatic Center, 14421 Johnny Cake Ridge Road, Apple Valley. Join us for Apple Valley’s second annual Trunk or Treat event! This FREE event allows a safe environment for children to dress up in costumes and trick-or-treat by going from vehicle to vehicle collecting candy. City vehicles and staff from multiple departments will be in attendance.

Halloween is coming to Osseo. 11:00am – 1:00pm. Downtown Osseo. The Boo Tour will start promptly at 11 AM in front of the Osseo Fire Station. The trick’or’treating fun will continue up and down Central Avenue to participating local businesses; ending at Boerboom Park.
Trick or Treat Owatonna! 11:00am – 1:00pm. Downtown Owatonna (about 1 hour south of the Twin Cities). We’re so excited for this year’s Trick-or-Treat extravaganza! Head to downtown Owatonna with your trick-or-treat bags ready to fill and check out the beautiful streetscape prioject’s progress!
Halloween Cub Kids Event. 11:00am – 2:00pm. The Village of Blaine Shopping Center, Blaine.
