Looking for a safe, indoor place to trick-or-treat on Halloween?
Many Halloween celebrations at area malls are happening this year, so there is plenty of opportunity for costume and candy fun! Here is my compilation of Twin Cities Shopping Districts, Centers & Malls where your kiddos can trick or treat for free this year!
Saturday, October 26th
Trick or Treat Downtown. 10:00am – 12:00pm. Downtown Shakopee, 138 Lewis Street S, Shakopee. Trick or Treat in Downtown Shakopee is held annually on Halloween weekend and gives parents and kids a safe place to “run amok” and get some treats as well! Dress up your little ones and visit Downtown from 10 AM until 12 PM on Saturday, October the 26th!
50th & France Pumpkin Fest. 10:00am – 1:00pm. 50th & France in Edina. Join 50th & France for the 37th Annual Pumpkin Fest! Trick-or-treating in the area, including Halloween and fall-themed activities for kids! West 50th Street between France Avenue and Halifax Avenue will be closed with activities. Activities include face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo and more.
Fall Festival on Main Street. 10:00am – 2:00pm. Arbor Lakes, Maple Grove. This is a FREE trick-or-treating event that allows your entire family to dress to impress! Hundreds attend the event each year, people of all ages participate in this event dressing in costumes, walking up and down Main Street to find participating businesses handing out candy, hayrides, and more.
Great Pumpkin Festival. 10:00am – 1:00pm. Shops at West End, St. Louis Park. Trick-or-treating, a bounce house and craft area. They will also have music, balloons, games and prizes from the Twin Cities Road Crew. Free!
Halloween Trick-or-Treat Event. 10:00am – 12:00pm. The Village of Blaine Shopping Center, 4335 Pheasant Ridge Dr NE, Blaine. Wear your costumes and join us for FREE (and SPOOKY) trick-or-treating!
Trick or Treat on Main Street, Stillwater. 12:00 – 4:00pm. Downtown Stillwater. Both Saturday and Sunday. Bring the kids to Historic Downtown Stillwater for Trick or Treating! Saturday 26th noon – 4, Sunday 27th noon – 4. Trick or treat around Downtown Stillwater at your leisure. Wander in and out of participating businesses that have a Trick or Treat sign displayed! Bring your ninjas, frozen princesses and superheros and let them stock up on tricks and treats!
Sunday, October 27th
Trick or Treat on Main Street, Stillwater. 12:00 – 4:00pm. Downtown Stillwater. Both Saturday and Sunday. Bring the kids to Historic Downtown Stillwater for Trick or Treating! Saturday 26th noon – 4, Sunday 27th noon – 4. Trick or treat around Downtown Stillwater at your leisure. Wander in and out of participating businesses that have a Trick or Treat sign displayed! Halloween – Thursday, October 31st
Mall of America. 5:00 – 8:00pm. It’s the one day of the year you can go to the Mall of America, go from store to store and get goodies for FREE! Come dressed in your All Hallow’s Eve best as you scour the Mall for sweet treats at participating retailers. Leave the tricks at home + grab your treat bag in the Rotunda starting at 5 p.m. “Snap a photo at our free Halloween photo booth, test out a robot in our Allergy Free Zone, or visit Southeast and Macy’s Court for more tasty treats! It’ll be a spooktacular evening for all ages! *While supplies last.”
Prefer a smaller mall? (Like any other mall in America…)
Here are some other Twin Cities area shopping malls offering their own trick or treat festivities (in order of start time):
Burnsville Center. 5:00 – 8:00pm. Come Trick or Treat on our Street! Participating retailers throughout the mall will offer special treats to little ghouls & goblins in a fun environment. While supplies last. All children (up to age 12) must be in costume and accompanied by an adult. Adults: please no masks. Enter any mall entrance, and visit participating retailers for candy and treats!
Rosedale Center. 5:00 – 8:00pm. Roseville. Bring out the family for our annual mall wide trick-or-treating event! Spend this Halloween in and away from the cold. On Halloween night from 5-8 p.m. join Rosedale Center and participating retailers in mall-wide trick-or-treating. Feel free to come dressed up in your best Halloween costume! Masks are not allowed. Participating retailers will be handing out candy. Event is held from 5-8 p.m.
Eden Prairie Center. 5:30 – 8:00pm. Eden Prairie. Who’s ready for a ghoulishly delightful Halloween?! 👻 Eden Prairie Center will be hosting Halloween in the Mall on October 31st from 5:00-7:30pm. Bring the kids to the mall in costume for a night of safe trick-or-treating. Meet Eden Prairie police officers and firefighters, trick-or-treat at participating mall merchants and enjoy live entertainment in Center Court. No masks allowed on teens and adults.
Maplewood Mall. 6:00 – 8:00pm. Maplewood. Trick-or-Treat! Join us for Candy Crawl for all treats and maybe a few tricks too. We’ll be passing out treats at participating stores on October 31st at 6pm until 8pm.
Northtown Mall. Blaine. 6:00 – 8:00pm. Free Candy Crawl at the Mall! Join us for Trick-or-Treating through-out Northtown. Stores participating will have an orange pumpkin on their store front. Select stores will also be participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project – for kids with food allergies, non-food items will be given out instead. Don’t miss our spooky selfie station at Center Court! Masks or anything that conceals your identity is not allowed for anyone over the age of 16.
