Like every year, there are many fun places to visit in the Twin Cities this Mother’s Day weekend where moms and grandmas get in FREE! Here are some I could find! (Check back for updates!)
FREE & DISCOUNTED MOTHER’S DAY FUN IN THE TWIN CITIES!
Cabela’s – FREE 4×6 Mother’s Day photo at Cabela’s in Rogers, MN. Get a free photo taken to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend.
Como Zoo. Always free (though donations are welcome). Enjoy the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory’s Mother’s Day Bonsai Show as well as the Summer Flower Show Saturday and Sunday.
Como-Harriet Streetcar Line. Moms ride free on Sunday, May 12th (12:30 – 8:30pm).
Crayola Experience. Mall of America. This Sunday, May 12, all moms will receive FREE admission, with the purchase of a child’s admission. Regular admission to Crayola Experience is $20.99 at the door or $17.99 online. Children under 3 are free. However, you can get tickets for only $13.99 EVERY DAY via my special link! Fishing – It’s Take-a-Mom Fishing Weekend! Moms can fish free without a license this weekend both Saturday and Sunday. During the weekend, mothers can fish only for species that have open fishing seasons. (For residents of Minnesota.)
Friends School Plant Sale – Friday to Sunday at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds! With more than 2,450 plant varieties. this may be the largest plant sale in the U.S. It’s a fund-raising event sponsored by the Friends School of Minnesota, a small Quaker K – 8 school in the Hamline-Midway area in Saint Paul.
Landmark Center – Saint Paul Civic Symphony Annual Mother’s Day Concert. Landmark Center, Musser Cortile; Sunday at 1:00 pm. Free. The Saint Paul Civic Symphony always fills up seats for their Mother’s Day concert as the music chosen for this event is always popular. Bring your family for a beautiful and heartfelt concert
Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Sunday, May 12th is this month’s Family Day at the MIA from 11:00 – 5:00. The entire event is free! The theme is “Inspired by Nature.”
Minnesota Zoo – Unfortunately, admission for moms is not free this year as it has been in previous years. But there’s a Mama Llama scavenger hunt along with mom-themed animal enrichment activities. Moms will also receive a special gift shop discount. (Limited income families get free admission every day – more here.)
Northtown Mall Carnival – Every day now through May 12th, enjoy carnival rides, food and games at Northtown Mall in Blaine, MN! Unlimited ride armbands available for up to 3 hours for $20 per person per session.
Or buy ride tickets for $1 each or 25 tickets for $20. (Not mom-specific but it’s fun for families)
Oliver H. Kelley Farm – Moms get in free Saturday and Sunday (10-5 both days) when accompanied by a child. Check out my review with photos here. Celebrate mothers of all species as the Kelley Farm springs to life. Help plant seeds in the gardens, harvest the first spring greens from the hotbeds, and meet the baby animals and their mothers at the historic farmstead and in the Farm Lab barn. Be sure to see what’s cooking in the Learning Kitchen and historic house kitchen. (Fees $6-12) (Limited income families get discounted admission every day – more here.)
Sky Zone – Moms jump free at Twin Cities locations! On Sunday, May 12th, 2019, all moms will receive 1 FREE 90 Minute Freestyle Jump ticket & a beautiful flower! Participating locations are Blaine, Minneapolis and St. Paul. Details:

Three Rivers Park District. The Three Rivers Park District is offering various fun events for moms. Many are free, though a few are paid. For example:
- Mother’s Day Photo Booth (Sunday, 1:00 – 4:00pm) FREE, at Eastman
- It’s 1889 and I Do Not Have a Things to Wear! (Saturday, 1:00 – 4:00pm) $12.00, at The Landing
- Geocaching for S’mores (Saturday, 1:00 – 3:00pm) $8.00 at French Regional Park
Valleyfair Opening Day! – Valleyfair is opening on Friday, May 10th, just in time for Mother’s Day weekend! Plus, it’s also the perfect day to activate your child’s 2019 Pre-K Pass, offering FREE admission for children ages 3-5 for the entire 20190 season. Simply register online, activate at the park and come play!
The Works Museum (Bloomington) – Moms and Grandmas receive FREE ADMISSION on Mother’s Day weekend, 5/11 – 5/12. Plus EVERY DAY you can get DISCOUNTED tickets for The Works Museum in Bloomington with my special code! Tickets are $7.00 (regularly $9.00; save $2 per ticket!)
