The movie “RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET” is in theatres officially November 21! I got to see an advance screening with my kids and I honestly have to say – YOU HAVE TO SEE IT! My kids and I were laughing so hard throughout the movie. It was a fantastic mix of humor, adventure, and fun, and I especially loved how the movie portrayed how the Internet would look like if it were an actual place. It was so clever, and the jokes throughout were perfect.
Plus I have some FREE PRINTABLE COLORING PAGES AND ACTIVITY SHEETS for you! Seriously – this is the best collection of free printables I think Disney has ever come up with. Now that we’ve seen the movie, I know my kids will love these.
I hadn’t even seen the first one, Wreck-It Ralph, but I can’t imagine the first one was any funnier than this one. But I definitely want to see the first one now.
The movie felt pretty long, and it was at 1 hour and 54 minutes. That’s because it packed SO much into the story. First Ralph and Vanellope had to go “to” the Internet to buy a replacement wheel for Vanellope’s Sugar Rush game to save her, then it’s one thing after another as they go from trying to steal a car to creating viral videos to fighting a different kind of King Kong.
I think my favorite part of the movie was when Vanellope meets the Disney Princesses. It was already a great movie by then but it got even better, as all the princesses asked Vanellope if she was a princess like them too, and then got “real.” Some jokes the kids won’t get but the adults will, but it’s a great movie for both kids and adults alike.
Tip – STAY in the theater through the credits as there is more fun after the movie is over!
Here’s what the movie is about:
In RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET, video-game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and best friend Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) leave the comforts of Litwak’s arcade in an attempt to save her game, Sugar Rush. Their quest takes them to the vast, uncharted world of the internet where they rely on the citizens of the internet—the Netizens—to help navigate their way. Lending a virtual hand are Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), the head algorithm and the heart and soul of the trend-making site “BuzzzTube,” and Shank (voice of Gal Gadot), a tough-as-nails driver from a gritty online auto-racing game called Slaughter Race, a place Vanellope wholeheartedly embraces—so much so that Ralph worries he may lose the only friend he’s ever had. Directed by Rich Moore (“Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph”) and Phil Johnston (co-writer “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Zootopia,” writer, “Cedar Rapids”), and produced by Clark Spencer (“Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Bolt,” “Lilo & Stitch”), “Ralph Breaks the Internet” hits theaters on Nov. 21, 2018.
Is it safe for younger kids?
I don’t recommend this movie for young kids, like under 5. There are some scenes that may scare them, and they won’t understand a lot of the humor. But there’s nothing offensive about the movie.
