We were invited by MustSeeDuluth.com to visit Duluth and experience their 3-attraction pass, which helps save families money while exploring some of Duluth’s best attractions! As part of our stay, we were given a one-night stay at the Inn on Lake Superior.
The Inn on Lake Superior is located right in the heart of Canal Park. You can’t beat the location – you can walk right out the back door right onto the lake walk. And there are many amenities like two pools (one on the rooftop!), a full hot breakfast and s’mores every night.
We had a King Bed Suite with Sofa Sleeper, with a balcony overlooking Lake Superior. It was so nice! It felt like 2 rooms with the bathroom in the middle.
The room had a luxurious king bed, a living area, sink with the best toiletries (the body wash and lotion smelled amazing), fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and two flat screen TVs.
The room even had binoculars to watch ships from your room!
After we checked in, we walked around Canal Park and to the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center, which always has free admission. We picked up a Northland coupon book there, which is free and available at various Duluth attractions. I found a $5.00 off a $25.00 purchase coupon for Grandma’s restaurant, which is my favorite, so we ate there for dinner. I had my favorite chicken wild rice salad, and the kids enjoyed some kids’ meals.
In the evening at the hotel they have free s’mores for guests from 8:00 – 10:00pm. They provide everything you need, and fire pits are outside on the lake side of the hotel. There are also board games to play.
Later we went swimming in the indoor pool. It was nice and warm (a winner for me!), and I couldn’t get the kids out until 10:00pm when it changed over to adult swim time. There was also a big hot tub and sauna. The pool was very popular with families in the hotel.
There was also a rooftop pool which is open year-round. We didn’t have time for it but I heard it was really warm. I loved the idea!
We had a nice sleep, and breakfast in the morning was AMAZING. I couldn’t believe how much there was. They had make-your-own belgian waffles with toppings, scrambled eggs with ham, diced potatoes, cereals, oatmeal, pastries, fruit, yogurt, and various beverages including juice, milk and coffee. We filled our trays and sat in the dining area overlooking the lake. My favorite part was probably the belgian waffles – they were so good! Actually, everything was good
We were so sad to check out – we wanted to stay more nights! The whole experience was so enjoyable, but we had more fun ahead of us as we visited several attractions in Duluth with our Must See Duluth passes!
Read about our experiences on the Vista Fleet, North Shore Scenic Railroad, and Great Lakes Aquarium, and how you can save money going to all three!
