Like every year, there are many fun places to visit in the Twin Cities this Mother’s Day weekend where moms and grandmas get in FREE! Here are some I could find! (Check back for updates!)
Como Zoo. Always free (though donations are welcome). Enjoy the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory’s Mother’s Day Bonsai Show Saturday and Sunday.
Como-Harriet Streetcar Line. Moms ride free on Sunday, May 14th (12:30 – 8:30pm).
Crayola Experience. Mall of America. This Sunday, May 14, all moms will receive FREE admission, with the purchase of a child’s admission. Moms can also get one free entrée at Café Crayola with the purchase of one regular entrée. Regular admission to Crayola Experience is $19.99 at the door or $15.99 online. Children under 3 are free. However, you can get tickets for only $13.99 EVERY DAY via my special link!
Fishing – Moms can fish free without a license this weekend both Saturday and Sunday.
Landmark Center – Saint Paul Civic Symphony Annual Mother’s Day Concert
Musser Cortile; 1:00 pm; Free. The Saint Paul Civic Symphony always sells out their Mother’s Day concert as the music chosen for this event is always popular. Bring your family for a beautiful and heartfelt concert
Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Sunday, May 14th is this month’s Family Day at the MIA from 11:00 – 5:00. The entire event is free! The theme is “Tea Time.”
Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Not free on Mother’s Day weekend, but is always free the third Monday of the month, which is the day after Mother’s Day this year May 15th).
Minnesota Zoo – Moms get in free on Sunday (corrected from before – thanks, Cheryl!), thanks to Macy’s. Plus, special offers: 20% off regular price apparel at the gift store, BOGO admission at the Great Clips IMAX Theater, and FREE cookie for mom with purchase of a coffee at the Penguin Café and Wild Java on Sunday, May 14.
Oliver H. Kelley Farm – Moms get in free Saturday and Sunday (10-5 both days) when accompanied by a child. Check out my review with photos here. Explore the Kelley Farm as it springs to life on Mother’s Day Weekend. Help plant seeds in the garden, harvest the first greens and meet the new baby animals as they try out their young legs. Parents, children and grandparents are encouraged to enjoy this event together. (Fees $6-9)
Pure Barre. To celebrate those special relationships, we invite you to bring your mom or daughter (or son) to a free* Pure Barre class on Mother’s Day weekend, May 13 and 14. All guests will receive a special introductory month offer of $79. (There are 7 Pure Barre locations in the Twin Cities area.)

Three Rivers Park District. The Three Rivers Park District is offering various fun events for moms. For example:
- Mother’s Day Nature Collage at the Lowry Nature Center (Sunday, 1:00 – 3:00pm; FREE)
- Family Fun: Digital Scavenger Hunt – Animal Moms at the Richardson Nature Center (Sunday 3:00 – 4:00pm, FREE)
- Mother’s Day Clay at Silverwood Park (Sunday 10:00am – 12:00pm; $25 per adult-child pair)
- Frontier Family: Finding Wild Edibles at The Landing (Sunday 12:30 – 4:00pm; $10)
- Family Fun: Nature’s Mothers at Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park (Sunday 1:00 – 3:00; FREE)
- Mother’s Day Photo Booth at Eastman Nature Center (Sunday 1:00 – 4:00pm)
Twin Cities Premium Outlets – Celebrating Moms takes place on Saturday, May 13, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. FREE and open to all women! Twin Cities Premium Outlets in Eagan is hosting a special day for moms. The day will kick off with Stepping Outlet for Mom, a one mile walk honoring mother’s battling cancer, and will continue into the afternoon with Celebrating Moms, a day of fashion, fun and indulgence. Then, on May 14, Twin Cities Premium Outlets is taking part in a national day of public yoga classes called project:OM, with proceeds going to Susan G. Komen.
Celebrating Moms from 11-3 features:
· Enjoy free massages
· Treat themselves to a free ponytail bar and nail painting from Vincent Salon
· Take part in a complimentary Sip and Paint experience where every 30 minutes, 20 lucky ladies will let their creativity shine through the art of painting

The Wishing Tree Play Cafe – “Mommy & Me Extravaganza” on Saturday, May 13th from 8:30am – 1:00pm. Free with paid admission but first come, first served.
The Works Museum (Bloomington) – Moms and Grandmas receive FREE ADMISSION on Mother’s Day weekend, 5/12-5/14.
