There’s a charity in Owatonna that provides free beds to local children in need.
It’s called Beds for Kids, an all-volunteer organization that is “spreading the love of Jesus by providing beds to children in need.” They launched in 2010 and quickly learned how great the need for beds was for kids.
Depending entirely on donations of money and supplies, the more they receive, the more they can offer kids including bedding and stuffed animals with their beds.
And they just celebrated a milestone, delivering their 1000th bed last weekend! Here’s the group delivering that bed:
Who qualifies?
- Children 2 to 17 years of age who live in Steele and Waseca counties in Minnesota.
- A child, who has been sleeping in unsuitable conditions, such as on the floor, or sharing a bed with an adult or a sibling, or sleeping on inappropriate furniture like a sofa or chair, qualifies for their program.
If your child qualifies, what can you expect?
Beds for Kids will do it all for you –deliver a complete bed to your home, set it up, and make that bed with brand new bedding.
