This Saturday we went to Toylend USA’s Playlend, their indoor playplace that you can rent for private parties and events! They had an open house and we had a blast!
I previously introduced you to Dr. Elizabeth Wilcox, the owner and founder of Toylend USA, a local business that rents toys and baby gear. She and her husband Bill host these open houses once a month, and do a fabulous job.
There was even a guest speaker – Dr. Rich Melheim, who is the founder of RICH Learning (http://www.richlearning.com/). RICH Learning is brain-based learning on arts-based platforms. Toylend USA has partnered with Dr. Rich to develop and pilot a series of RICH Learning classes for preschoolers with music, dance, stories, and arts!
We enjoyed stories and fun with Dr. Rich Melheim. He taught parents and kids about how to take care of our brains. He got the kids up and about, exercising in place (exercise is good for our brains, too!). All the activity helped the kids focus on the stories he read and the information he shared. It was a lot of fun!
The kids also had fun playing with all the toys at Playlend, which is actually a condo in Roseville with toys filling up every room! It’s very neat and tidy, there’s a kitchen and two bathrooms, and an inflatable bouncy castle that was the highlight of all the fun!
There were at least a dozen kids and their parents. I was excited to meet Stef from the blog, Non-Toy Gifts, and Ellen Wolf, a mom and community ed teacher offering frugal living classes for moms! (See my post about her for more information!)
We also celebrated Chinese New Year and the kids got fun gifts!
This Saturday, March 7th, Toylend and Non-Toy Gifts are hosting a toy swap event! See their event page for more information!
Playlend is located in Roseville. Follow Toylend USA on their website and on Facebook for more information about Playlend and future events!
