I just received a fun gift pack from Red Gold Tomatoes with five cans of tomatoes: diced with Garlic/Olive Oil, Lime & Cilantro, Green Chilies and petite diced, plus a Red Gold apron, a tomato spreader and a recipe guide with 10 recipes for Aioli.
I’ve never tried Aioli before but found out it’s basically a mayo-based spread and can be made into endless flavorful variations. Red Gold tomatoes is introducing new Aioli spreads using tomatoes for sandwiches, dips, toppings and other recipes, and I was invited to try out these spreads and share them.
Tomato Aioli, the simplest recipe, uses 2 ingredients: Red Gold Petite Diced Tomatoes and mayo. You combine a 14.5 oz Can of Red Gold Petite Diced Tomatoes, drained with 1/2 cup of light mayonnaise.
I used Kraft Mayo with Olive Oil and made a BLT. The tomatoes did actually taste fresh and flavorful, making it a tasty and quick-to-prepare sandwich. Now I’m anxious to try the other Aioli recipes.
Here’s a great BLT recipe from Red Gold:
