Have you heard about Bookawocky?
It’s a summer reading experience for kids and teens from the 8 public library systems in the Twin Cities metro area. The metro public library systems include: Anoka County Library, Carver County Library, Dakota County Library, Hennepin County Library, Ramsey County Library, Saint Paul Public Library, Scott County Library, and Washington County Library.
I know as a parent how important educational experiences are for kids during the summer, so they can stay on track for the next school year. Though my oldest is just starting kindergarten this fall, I am exploring this program as it helps kids stay excited about learning with book lists and lots of free activities at local libraries.
Our local library is featuring guest performers several times this summer during story time hour. We recently saw “Brodini the Magician” who made everyone laugh as he performed great magic tricks with kids from the packed audience.
I recommend checking out your local library’s summer calendar for fun kids’ activities! And check out the Bookawocky website for more info.
