Easy Quiche recipes? Quick, easy and delicious. Who doesn’t like that? This is my go-to recipe for quiche (which I LOVE).
Ingredients:
Meat (if using) such as 1 can (3 oz) of bacon bits, 1 cup of cooked, cubed ham or bacon, or cooked sausage crumbles
1/2 cup chopped onion
8 ounces of shredded cheddar cheese
1 (9 inch) deep dish frozen pie crust
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup half-and-half cream
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. In a medium bowl, mix the meat, onions, and cheese. Place this mixture in the unthawed pie crust.
3. Mix the eggs and half and half in a bowl. Pour the egg mixture over the meat/cheese mixture.
4. Place on a cookie or pizza baking sheet (eggs spill easily!). Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for an additional 35 minutes, until top of quiche begins to turn brown.
Tips and Variations for easy quiche recipe:
-Use chopped broccoli or spinach instead of or in addition to meat (use less meat).
-I made this once without placing it on a baking sheet, and accidentally tipped it when placing it in the oven, and some of the eggs spilled in the oven. This is why I recommend placing the quiche on some kind of flat baking sheet!
-For the quiche in the picture, I used an organic whole wheat frozen pie crust from Whole Foods Market, organic eggs, Trader Joe’s uncured turkey bacon, plus Horizon Organic half and half. The quality and taste of these ingredients were worth the little extra cost!
-You can combine cheeses for added flavor. Try mixing shredded Swiss cheese with the cheddar.
