I always enjoy looking at the Black Friday ads in the Thanksgiving newspaper. Every year they seem to get bigger and better…depending on what you’re looking for. When you’re lost in the deals, it’s hard to not need some Black Friday Shopping Tips.
Getting up early is kind of fun and exciting – shopping in the dark early hours of the morning with other bargain-hungry shoppers – people are generally in a good mood & the prices are great.
Personally, I highly recommend sleeping in on Friday & shopping online instead – ON Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
This year I shopped at my home computer and got BETTER deals than I would have had I gotten up at 0-dark-30 in the morning and waited in the cold to be first in the stores.
At Herberger’s website, for example, I ordered three DOORBUSTER items for the Friday a.m. advertised prices and got FREE SHIPPING (my order totaled just over $50) plus there was NO sales tax (one advantage of ordering online)! If I had gotten up early and gone at 3:00 a.m. (that was Herberger’s start time – I think they’re insane), I would have gotten the exact same prices PLUS I would have had to pay tax.
Other stores offer similar deals online – FREE SHIPPING for orders for $25 (JcPenney), $39 (Sears) or $50 (many like Herberger’s) or more. Plus some stores offer WEB-ONLY deals. You’ll find great prices whether you’re in your PJs or not (well, maybe some of you go to the stores in your PJs, too).
Happy Holiday Shopping!
