Every frugal-minded handyman or handywoman’s dream has just come true in the Twin Cities through the Minnesota Tool Library.
The Minnesota Tool Library (formerly Northeast Minneapolis Tool Library) is now open at 1620 Central Ave NE, Suite #126, Minneapolis, MN 55413. And for only $55 a year for an individual membership, you can borrow from a catalog of 2,500 tools for up to 7 days at a time. They even have household and other memberships available.
That’s not all they offer though. They also offer members a 500 square-foot workshop space and monthly classes in woodworking, home maintenance, crafts and seasonal events.
Want to join the Minneapolis Tool Library? Here’s what you have to do:
-Pay the $55 annual fee
-Sign a liability waiver
-Review and agree to a tool safety protocol
Members are assessed a $1/day/tool late fee for any tools not returned to the library by the mid-point of the stated due date.
Hours are:
Wednesday – 4pm-7pm*
Thursday – 4pm-7pm*
Saturday – 10am-4pm*
