National Get Outdoors Day is an annual, family event to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun sponsored nationally by OFF!® It sounds super fun! and it’s this Saturday, June 13th!
National Get Outdoors Day is a nationwide event that offers those new to outdoor activities an opportunity to try them out for FREE. There are events throughout the country including right here in the Twin Cities! Check out the full list here.
One event is at Powderhorn Park. This Saturday, June 13th come out to Powderhorn Park to play outside! There will be lots of activities including: canoeing, stand up paddleboarding, geocaching, fishing, archery, mountain biking, roast marshmallows, play camp games, learn how to portage a canoe, wilderness camping etiquette, fire arms safety at the laser shooting range, kids’ outdoor activities, climbing wall, fitness activities with your dog, cool off in the wading pool, enjoy food, live music, prize give-aways and more! We are ready to have some fun outside and hope that you will join us. Bike technicians will be on hand to do a free safety check on your bike for all attendees who ride to the event. The event is completely free. There are numerous bus routes to reach the event by public transport. Plenty of parking is available on side streets.
#GODay is an outgrowth of the Get Outdoors USA! campaign, which encourages Americans, especially our youth, to seek out active outdoor lives and embrace our parks, forests, refuges and other public lands and waters.
